Highland Senior Center Providing outreach services to seniors since 1979, the Highland Senior Center is a private non-profit senior adult recreational/social facility that improves the quality of life for seniors through exercise classes (designed especially for seniors), educational classes, social interaction and special outreach programs. ACU has assisted with corporate sponsorships to cover all the programs offered, assisting with the monthly birthday cake and “Operation Pick-Up” where seniors from neighboring apartments and mobile home parks are picked up and brought to the Center for the Senior Nutrition Program. The Center served approximately 80,000 seniors through its programs and activities during the past year. In April 2005, Larry Sharp, President/CEO of ACU was given the “Outstanding Senior Recognition Award” for his contributions and commitment to the community.
H Street Clinic The “H” Street Clinic is a community heath clinic operating in collaboration with the Community University Partnership of CSUSB. Operating as a nurse-managed clinic, it offers primary care health care services during traditional hours, urgent care health care services during evening and weekend hours, secondary health care services, providing counseling and referrals and prevention education focusing in areas of diabetes, heart disease, nutrition, exercise, prostate cancer and other preventable diseases with proper health care education.
Arrowhead United Way ACU employees raised over $63,000 for the Arrowhead United Way in the past year through payroll deductions, arts and crafts auctions, special movie days, and even a Halloween haunted house. Arrowhead United Way is a volunteer driven organization that has been supporting health and human care services for over 113 years to the Inland Empire. They work collaboratively with partner agencies, community organizations, private sectors, public sectors, corporations, philanthropic and faith-base organizations. Arrowhead United Way focuses on helping children and youth succeed, strengthening and supporting families, promoting self-sufficiency, building vital and safe neighborhoods and supporting vulnerable and aging populations.
Center for Individual Development CID is a regional recreation center that focuses on providing recreation programs for people with disabilities. CID serves people with the following disabilities: physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, and mental illness. People without disabilities and senior citizens are welcome to attend many CID programs. Arrowhead Credit Union is a sponsor of the annual “Grapes and Gourmet” fundraiser.
Alannah Foster Family Agency Since the establishment of its first foster home in December 1996, Alannah has been committed to safeguarding children who have been affected by developmental disabilities, abuse, neglect and abandonment.
