Arrowhead Foundation

Foundation is a non-profit trust started by Arrowhead Credit Union in 1999 for
the purpose of providing educational scholarships in the communities we serve.
Since its inception the Foundation has awarded over $400,000 in scholarships.
The Foundation is funded by Arrowhead Credit Union and through direct donations
of Arrowhead employees. In May 2009, 64 high school seniors from San Bernardino
and Riverside counties were chosen by the Arrowhead Foundation Board of Trustees
based on their application and essay for awards that totaled $55,250.
Alliance for Education The Alliance for Education is a
San Bernardino County partnership with business, labor, government, community
and education to align common goals in order to produce an educated and skilled
community that will provide a qualified workforce. Working in collaboration with
these partners, the Alliance has the potential of impacting more than 61,000
high school students, which is approximately one-third of the county’s high
school student population.
Mayor’s Education Round Table Each year outstanding
teachers are recognized in San Bernardino with the prestigious Golden Apple
Awards. The awards are sponsored by the San Bernardino Education Round table,
which was formed in March 1988 as a collaboration between local educational
institutions and the mayor of San Bernardino. The purpose of the Golden Apple is
to recognize outstanding educators and support staff of San Bernardino's three
major educational institutions – San Bernardino Unified School District, Valley
College and California State University, San Bernardino. ACU is a proud
corporate sponsor saluting the efforts of these exceptional teachers.
Science and Technology Education Partnership (STEP) STEP
was created to bridge the skills gap between K- 12 students and the high
technology industry needs. STEP produces a student conference each year to
ignite the imaginations of students to pursue careers in math, science and
technology. There is also a teacher conference that provides hands-on training
to K-12 teachers, ensuring that they have the necessary tools to keep students
competitive in the global marketplace. ACU's corporate sponsorship assists in
making science and math opportunities available to students and teachers each
year in the Inland Empire.
El Sol Neighborhood Educational Center Founded in 1991,
the El Sol Neighborhood Educational Center is a grassroots non-profit

Community Based English Tutoring Program, services are provided for multi-level
ESL students with 80% receiving certificates for their proficiency in using
English for spoken and written communication. ACU’s sponsorship assists in
allowing these classes to continue throughout the summer when funding is not
available through the San Bernardino Unified School District.
Temecula Student of the Month ACU is a sponsor of this
program that recognizes outstanding high school students in the Temecula area
with a monthly honors luncheon. In addition, ACU also provided two $500
