Arrowhead Credit Union Honors Tuskegee Airmen

5 Inland Empire Members of the Tuskegee Airmen to be presented with Congressional Gold Medal

San Bernardino, CA-- Arrowhead Credit Union is hosting a special night to honor “America’s Heroes”, the Tuskegee Airmen on Friday, July 13 at Arrowhead Credit Union Park.

Congressman Joe Baca and Assemblymember Wilmer Amina-Carter will present the Congressional Gold Medal award to the Inland Empire Tuskegee Airmen; Buford Johnson, Lt. Col (Ret) Harlan Q. Leonard Jr., Laska H. Jones, Robert Boyd, and Charles Ledbetter (Posthumously). The ceremony will take place prior to the baseball game where the Inland Empire 66ers will play the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. President George Bush originally awarded the Congressional Gold Medal to over 300 Tuskegee Airmen at the nation’s capitol on March 29, 2007.

The Inland Empire Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen Association will be in attendance along with Associate President Robert L. Porter. The March ARB color guard will also participate in the on-field presentations. The event will occur at Arrowhead Credit Union stadium located at 280 South “E” Street, San Bernardino, California.
