As not-for-profit financial cooperatives, credit unions encourage savings and provide a source of credit for their members. Credit unions were founded on the principle of “not for profit, not for charity, but for service.” The philosophy of “people helping people” is the cornerstone of our movement and the heart of Arrowhead Credit Union.
When a small group of San Bernardino County employees got together in 1949 to talk about starting a credit union, the financial needs of the Inland Empire were much simpler. Our first members needed the credit union for small loans to help provide for their growing families and payroll deductions to facilitate basic saving habits. Soon enough, these needs changed and the credit union added car loans, home loans and checking accounts to help members with their day-to-day lives.
In over six decades, Arrowhead has expanded from serving just San Bernardino County employees to serving the needs of all the individuals in one of the largest regions in the nation—the Inland Empire; covering San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
Arrowhead has always understood that member service means more than helping people improve their financial lives. It means helping the communities we serve become better places to live.
Arrowhead Credit Union is committed to serving its members' financial needs by providing world-class member service, convenient branch locations, competitive savings accounts and loan programs, and much more.
