GENERAL

Why merge with Arrowhead?
The BEFCU Board and team considered several credit unions. After spending time with each, they felt Arrowhead Credit Union’s service culture and organizational values were the best fit. Merging will provide members with a highly competitive lineup of products and services, including financial planning assistance through a third-party partner, Saturday call center hours, and instant-issue debit and credit cards. In addition, they have 19 branches (15 of which serve the Inland Empire) and over 500 team members (which the BEFCU staff will become part of) who specialize in providing you with world-class service.

How will this affect the Bourns team?
The BEFCU branch team will continue to serve you throughout the merger and after. In fact, the BEFCU team will become part of the Arrowhead team.

When will my account(s) convert to Arrowhead Credit Union?
Your BEFCU account(s) will convert to Arrowhead account(s) early in 2025. In the meantime, you can use BEFCU as usual. The most up-to-date information will be available on this website, and you will receive updates about the process via mail and email.

Can I keep using my Bourns account(s)?
Yes, you'll continue to use your BEFCU accounts until they're converted to Arrowhead accounts, which will be several months from now. We’ll communicate a firm timeline in advance and as soon as it is available.

Will this impact how I access my account(s)?
There won’t be any changes to how you access your account(s) until early next year. Additional information will be sent to you before any changes to your account(s) occur, and you can visit this page for frequent updates about the merger.

Will my account(s) still be covered by American Share Insurance?
American Share Insurance (ASI) coverage, which insures deposits that exceed the National Credit Union’s (NCUA) insurance limit of $250,000, will no longer be available. All funds up to $250,000 are insured by NCUA.

MEMBERSHIP

Will the merger affect membership eligibility?
There will be no effect on membership eligibility. The combined credit unions will continue to serve all groups and areas under each credit union’s existing charter.

Do I need to pay a membership fee?
No, you'll automatically become an Arrowhead member and will not need to pay a membership fee.

Will my years of membership carry over?
Yes, you will maintain your years of membership.

When will I receive my Arrowhead account information?
You'll receive your account information a few weeks before your BEFCU account(s) convert to Arrowhead accounts early next year. Please make sure BEFCU has your current mailing address, email, and phone number so you receive your new account information when it becomes available.

BRANCHES & ATMS

Which ATMs can I use?
You can continue accessing CO-OP's surcharge-free ATMs, which include all Arrowhead ATMs.

When can I use Arrowhead branches?
You will be able to use Arrowhead branches once your accounts are converted in early 2025. In the meantime, you can use BEFCU as usual. The most up-to-date information regarding your account conversion will be available on this website.

ONLINE & MOBILE BANKING

Will I need a new username and password?
When your BEFCU account(s) convert to Arrowhead, you will need to register for digital banking with Arrowhead using your Arrowhead Member Number and some other basic identifying information. Your member number will be mailed to you several weeks before conversion.

Will I be able to see my transaction history after my account(s) transfer to Arrowhead?
Your last 18 months of statements will be available in digital banking after the conversion, but your transaction history before your accounts convert to Arrowhead will not appear in your dashboard within digital banking.

Will my alerts convert?
No, but we have many alerts in digital banking that you can choose from and customize to fit your banking needs.

How do I enroll in eStatements?
You will be able to enroll in eStatements through digital banking any time after your account(s) convert to Arrowhead and you complete your registration.

CHECKING

Will my direct deposit automatically transfer over?
Yes, electronic direct deposit you have set up with BEFCU will transfer over to your Arrowhead account(s).

Will my outstanding Bourns EFCU checks still clear my account?
Yes, your BEFCU outstanding checks will be withdrawn from the available funds in your account whether they are presented for payment before or after the date of account conversion. We recommend you use your Arrowhead checks after your accounts convert. Once you start using your Arrowhead checks, you'll be able to see images of your cleared checks within digital banking.

Will I receive new checks? If so, when?
Yes, you will receive eight starter checks, for use with your Arrowhead checking account(s), several weeks before your accounts convert. Please remember not to use these until after conversion.

Is there a monthly fee for the Arrowhead Checking account?
Arrowhead Checking has no monthly maintenance fee when enrolled in eStatements.

Will my routing number change?
Yes, your new routing number will be 322282603 when your BEFCU account(s) convert to Arrowhead account(s).

How do I find my Arrowhead Checking account number?
It will be included with your Member Guide, which you'll receive several weeks before your account(s) transfer to Arrowhead. You can also access your checking account details once you register in digital banking.

SAVINGS

Can I have a direct deposit go to my Arrowhead Savings?
Yes, you can have funds directly deposited into your Arrowhead Savings account once your account converts. Use the electronic account number included in your Member Guide, which you will receive several weeks before your BEFCU account becomes an Arrowhead account.

What are your savings rates?
View our current savings rates here.

What is the minimum account balance requirement?
$5 is required to maintain your Arrowhead Savings account. Maintaining a $300+ average balance or a $25 recurring monthly deposit waives the $3 monthly fee.

Please note that you have a 6-month grace period for these requirements, and we will waive the $3 monthly maintenance fee during this grace period. We will automatically waive this monthly fee for members aged 17 years or younger or 60 and above.

LOANS

Will my interest rate on my loan be the same?
Yes, your interest rate(s) will remain the same on BEFCU loan balances, including credit card balances, that transfer over. Any new balances on credit cards or newly funded loans will be at our current rates.

Will my loan term be the same?
Yes, your BEFCU loan term will remain the same when it moves to Arrowhead.

How do I open a new loan?
You can apply online, visit a branch, or call us at (800) 743-7228 between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday–Friday and 9am–2pm on Saturdays.

Will my automatic payments carry over?
Any automatic payments from your Bourns EFCU account(s) will transfer over. However, if you have any payments set up coming from other financial institutions, they will not transfer over, and you'll need to set them up again after the conversion date.

Will I receive an updated DMV registration for my auto loan?
Yes, you will receive a new registration card from the DMV showing "Arrowhead Central Credit Union" as your lien holder. This will happen automatically; you won’t need to do anything differently.

IRAS & CERTIFICATES

Will my maturity date and dividend rate change?
No, they will both remain the same.
